Black Drawings Series

For this series I used gesso, clay, ink, and acrylic all on hardcover black paper. These were going to be the covers for my book, 35TORIA’5”, however I liked them enough to make them their own series. More of these are to come. When I am drawing these kind of small pieces I do not think about making art and I mainly use a process called “automatic drawing”, which I would recommend anyone to try. As soon as I find myself thinking of art I know its time to either pause or stop and move on to another project for whatever time being. This was also an experimentation with clay/plaster which adds texture to each piece. If you are interested in any let me know, thanks!
